Physics Modeling Workshop: Day 3

Hello, I hope the summer finds you all doing well and getting prepared for another school year.  First, I have to thank Fund for Teachers for allowing me to experience this great opportunity in New York City.  It would not have been possible without the grant I received from this organization.  Next year will be very exciting and very different for those of you who are going to be in my AP Physics class.  I finished my 3rd day of my modeling in physics workshop today and I already feel like I have learned so much!  I still have 12 more days to go, but the lessons I am learning are going to be invaluable to my teaching.  In my down time, I have been exploring all New York City has to offer.  I have been greatly inspired to incorporate my explorations into the physics curriculum.  Two of these ideas are video analysis of the motion of the subway trains and estimating the height of some of the tall buildings.  I can't wait until the next school year to put all of these ideas into practice and to share my experience with all of you.  I know the instruction is going to be very different from what you are used to, but I think it will be a much more enjoyable experience and will help you all grow so much more in your understanding of physics and make you better thinkers overall which is my ultimate goal!  If you have any questions or comments about my fellowship so far, feel free to leave a comment below.  Check back on Sunday, I am going to upload some pictures!  Until then, take care!
