Hello and welcome to the new school year! For our first week of school, I would like to learn a little more about each of you and your interests.

my goal this year is to do much better than i did last year. im am currently envovled in art. i like to relax and spend time with friends outside of school. and i currently do not have a job.

DeleteMy goal this year is to get straight A's more than just once. I am on the tennis team. At home I like to watch TV, be on the computer, and play video games. I do not have a job.

DeleteHello Ms. Ego! I'm Kimberly Gutierrez and my goal for this year is to learn how to blogging works. The extracurri ular activities that i want to be in is student council , hispanic heritage club ,and ffa. The sports i hopefully play this year is soccer and run with cross country.Ms. Ego were you in any clubs?
ReplyDeleteI was in a few clubs Kimberly. I was in the ski club (I'm from Michigan) and S.A.D.D (students against drunk driving). I wasn't much of a club person in high school or college. I kind of regret that now. I wish I would have been more involved in extracurricular activities. It sounds like you like to keep busy.
DeleteMy goal this year is to not procrastinate that much like I used to do. I am currently in chess club,choir,swimming,and going to get in to LIFE. I do not have a job. Ms. Ego do you have any pets? Cayla I seen one of your drawings.
ReplyDeleteYes, Iban, I do have pets. When I lived in Michigan I had horses, ferrets, cats, and dogs. My mom still has the horses and I miss them very much. I currently have two dogs, a 13 year old Pomeranian named Penny and a 1 year old corgi mix named Maggie. Do you have any pets?
DeleteMy goal for this year is to make A's and maybe one or two high B's. I really want to be in the top 8% of my class. The last I checked everyone in the top 8% of their graduating class in high school gets automatic admission into UT Austin, my future school. At least that's the college I'm planning on going to. Well, I plan to join hosa, student council and green is love once again this year since I was already a member to all those organizations last year. Also, I want to join science national honor society. I'm thinking of becoming an officer in hosa too. Outside of school I like hanging out with friends, listening to music and just having adventures. I do have a job as a cashier at Kroger. Hm, do you prefer big cities like New York or small towns where everyone knows each other?
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what I prefer. There are aspects to both that I enjoy. I love being close to everything in a big city and there are always lots of things to do and see. However, small towns are cozy and its nice to see people you know when you go to the store or to the mall. That was a great question and it really got me thinking.
DeleteMy goal for this year is to come to school more and get all A's. Every report card last year i had 88 or 89. I am going to start basketball season for Macarthur soon. I hope to make it on varsity again this year. I currently play softball just about every weekend for a tournament team. I traveled alot of places this summer like to Colorado and more, i hope it pays off and gets me a scholarship. I do have alot to handle and im always busy. The weeks that I had a break from softball in the summer I went to work with my mom. I help my mom buy me school clothes. So when have a break from everything I love to SLEEP!

I am not really a sports person. I tried a few when I was younger, but none of them really motivated me. Soccer wasn't around when I was a kid, otherwise I think I would have played that and liked it. I coached my daughter's soccer team last spring and it was a lot of fun. I LOVE to sleep. I am always tired, haha. I don't think I have any elaborate explanations. I like to keep things short and sweet. However, if I ever go into an elaborate explanation on something, let me know.

I'm in our marching band, i play the vibes , xylophone,piano, marimba, and all sorts of other percussion instruments, and the oboe. If you consider baking cakes and such a hobby, then it is considered my favorite.

I like all types of music. I mainly listen to 104, so I guess that would be my favorite type, but I will listen to pretty much anything. I also love to bake! I would love for you to bake me a cake and yes, I would eat it. Chocolate is my favorite kind, but I will pretty much eat any flavor.

ReplyDeleteI like to watch tv and relax too. That's why it always feels like I'm behind in my planning and grading, but I'm getting better. I know how to play the piano and the flute. I played the flute in fifth grade band, although I didn't stick it out the whole year. I took piano lessons for two or three years in elementary school. Back at my house in Michigan I have a piano, but I don't have one here. I am a little rusty, but I can still read music pretty well.

ReplyDeleteI have quite a few goals this year. This year I want to keep my grades high, stay focused in school, stay away from procrastinating a lot, to be in the top 8%, and to have fun as well. I have been in the school’s band since the 6th grade so I’m currently in the marching band. I also want to join Green is Love, Student Council, and SNHS. I’m also considering some other organizations , but I don’t want to spread myself out too thin. Outside of school, I love to hang out with friends, spend time with my brothers, but most importantly, SLEEP! What do you like to do on your free time?
ReplyDeleteI am usually in front of the tv or the computer. I am trying to get up and move around more. I also like to sleep! Last week was very rough for me because I had been staying up late and sleeping in all summer just like a teenager. I have to keep reminding myself I am not as young as I used to be.
DeleteMy goal this year is to make all A's, make the top 10% and for the band to make it to state. I like to set up goals and the feeling you get when you achieve them is even better. The extracurricular activities I wish to be in this year is the Marching Band, Run-through crew, STUCO, Green is Love, Hispanic Heritage Club, BPA, SNHS, NHS and HNHS. I know it seem like a lot but I know if I manage my time correctly I can do all of this. It will also look very good on my college applications. I LOVE to be busy and I also tend to stress a lot. I am a huge perfectionist so everything will get done correctly. Outside of school help my parents with their business, draw, write on my journal, listen to music and hang out with my friends.I do not have a job but i do help around my parents business. Besides the fact that I know you are awesome Mrs.Ego I would like to know what has been the greatest teacher experience you have had?
ReplyDeleteI love receiving the letters from the seniors at the end of the school year and the red ribbons that say I made a difference in there life. I have kept all of the letters and the ribbons. I also love to hear students who come into my class on the first day saying they hate science, then find out my class is their favorite. I love to see the excitement in a student's eyes when they learn a new concept and they go home and teach it to someone else. I really love being a teacher!

So ilike to go shopping in my free time and practice my clarinet sometimes even though im no longer in band i don't abandon my instrument (Geofrey). I do baby babysit after school but i get paid so would say its a job. i already know you Mrs.Ego you rock (:

DeleteMy goal this year is to get straight A's this whole year and graduate top 10%, i can not slack off this year and hopefully i can bring my rank up. I'm in the band in school so that keeps me occupied most of the time and i also play with the jazz ensemble and the macarthur small group.. but i will become more involved this year i'll with the Hispanic Heritage club again and i want to be in STUCO, SNHS, NHS and green is love. Outside of school i play with a group called Caliente and another group called Latin Fusion. I also help in the summer with Diaz music institute. But my small hobbies i have i love draw and take pictures of things because i want to be an architect. playing with the group Latin Fusion is my job i get payed to play with them. I'd like to know if you like watching baseball?
ReplyDeleteI like to play baseball, but I get bored when I watch it. It moves too slow for me. However, I have been to two Astro's games and I had went to a few minor league games back in Michigan. If I watched sports, basketball would be the sport I would watch. It keeps moving and there are not a lot of breaks.
DeletePaola Platero: My goal for this year is to get all A's in all of my classes so that I can pick up my rank as high as possible and be part of the top 8% of my class.I'm a Brigade Belle officer so i'm in the dance team so I get up really early in the morning everyday to go to practice.That's why sometimes I might be sleepy in class.Clubs i'm in are Hosa and I will join student council and also National science Honors society,and I will try to join some other clubs along the way and earn some more cords.Other hobbies I do outside of school would be sleep,eat,have fun,go out with my friends,and just relax and enjoy life.And currently no I don't have a job yet thank god.And things I would like to know about Ms.Ego i'm not sure yet, but she's really cool and i've enjoyed her class so far.
ReplyDeleteI give you a lot of credit for being so committed to the Brigade Belles. I know I would never be able to get up that early. I took an early class in high school and was absent so much, I didn't get credit for it. I have a really hard time getting up in the morning! I'm glad you're enjoying physics so far!
DeleteAntonia Ramirez: My main goal this year is to past my classes with good grades. Last year I was in guitar club. This year Im going to try to join more clubs. Outside of school I love to listen to music, catch up on shows, read, and sleep.

My hobbies include: hanging out with friends and family, going to Church All the time, texting my Best Friend, and playing sports! I also teach a kids class at Church, and I really enjoy it!! DeleteI enjoy going to church, but I haven't gone in a long time. I haven't looked for a church since I moved here three years ago, but I have been thinking about it. My girls attended vacation bible school in Michigan and really enjoyed it, so I would like to get them involved in some classes.
ReplyDeleteReally thats Awesome! I helped out this Summer at my Church with the Vacation Bible School for the Kids it was really fun! I go to The Power of Love Church is located on 1960 & Bamwood. The address is 17431 Bamwood Dr. Houston,Tx. 77090 It's a great Church and Tia is the Pastor. We have services on Sundays at 10:30am & 6pm and on Wed. Nights at 7:30pm Theres even service for teens ages 12-21 on Fidays its our Youth Group called IGNITE :)Oh during services on Sundays & Wed. we have Kid Classes were the Kids go and they play games, learn, and have fun.

ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you will be really busy this year. I like to swim, work on logic puzzles, sew, watch tv, and sleep. I would like to get in to some more outdoor activities like hiking and bike riding, but it is sooooo hot here. Maybe this winter.

DeleteMy goal for this year is to not fall asleep in my classes, not procrastinate, make straight A's make top 10% and for band ro make it to state. Right now, I'm currently in Band and Green Is Love. I wish to join SNHS, NHS, and HNHS, I just want to keep myself busy. I don't have a job, but I really do want one! Hobbies that I have is that I love sudoku puzzles and I dance in my free time. Something I would like to know about you is, what are your favorite TV shows and movies?
ReplyDeleteI also love sudoku puzzles, but I get frustrated if I can't solve them right away and give up. I like to watch a lot of reality tv. I like The Amazing Race (that's my favorite), Survivor, The Middle, The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy and Modern Family. I am really sad when I miss one of those. I also try to watch Criminal Minds, Judge Judy, and some others, but I am not too sad if I miss those. I only have so many hours in the day and I try not to spend a lot of it in front of the tv.

DeleteMy goals for this year are to pass and stay awake in all of my classes, not procrastinate (really bad habit), learn better time management, improve on my memory and dance techniques, and EXCEL in EVERYTHING I do.! I am on the Brigade Belles dance team! I am also in the JROTC program! In the program, I hold a position on staff as the S5's assistant, platoon leader of my class, and also plan to join their unarmed team. My hobbies outside of school are hanging out with my family and friends, listening to music (mostly country), eating, and sleeping! I must say I really enjoy your class! :)

DeleteMy goal is try to fully understand all the things we do in your class. I'm probably going to join the art club to get community service hours, so i can impress colleges. I want to get a job to get some extra money, but i think i'm way to lazy to do that, i wish was one of those people who love to work, but sadly I'm not..

The activities that I like to do outside of school are to play soccer and hang around with my cousins. Right now I don't have a job, but worked during the summer with my dad, later on in the year I plan to get one.

My goal for this year is to pass all my classes. I would like to pass with all A's and B's and maybe on C. I am currently practicing Mixed Martial Arts. I also like to play soccer. My hobbies are learining new languages. Right now i can speak english spanish and french. I do not have a job right now but am trying to get one.

ReplyDeleteI am a athlete. Well right now I'm doing Cross Country and I'm also doing Basketball, soccer, and track. I'm very serious on the sports i do because it motivate me to do my work so i can play and not sit out on the game.
Well i play soccer out of school. i sleep when i have nothing to do. i even play video games and listen to music. Sometimes i go out with my friends.
Yes i have a job. I work at subway but near Richey rd. Its pretty easy and i get paid good :)

Rolando Rodriguez: My goals are to get a letterman jacket, go up to a 3.9 GPA, and to lose 5 pounds. I'm in band and I play the bassoon. I would like to know if you like cheesecake and what kind of music you like :D
ReplyDeleteYou can do it! Just stay focused, don't let anything in the first 9 weeks discourage you. I know ranks definitely discouraged some people, and it also is making some people work harder. Ranks can change though, and so can gpas. Study hard and don't give up! :D
