Now that the school science fair is over, I would like you to reflect on your project. What did you do well? What would you do differently now that it is over? What grade would you give yourself? When deciding your own grade think of the following guidelines:
1. The originality of your idea
2. The amount of quality time you spent on your project outside of class
3. The amount of effort you put into developing your idea and display
4. The quality of your lab notebook
5. The effort put forth by you compared to your partners, if you had any
6. The level of difficulty of your topic
I would like to congratulate the following groups for moving on to the district level science fair:

Well now that the science fair is over I think we would have done better if we did it on time instead of rushing it but I think we still did good on the project because we didn't put nothing random , and write more details or information in the notebook , but Ill give our project a 90 lol

DeleteOur project at first wasn't the effects of color on memeory but it just kept making us curious and we only had like 5 days to work on it. So our group did work hard and tried to make our information as good as it can be.
ReplyDeleteMy group did well on researching the topic and putting all together as a team.Now that its over i think what i would have done differently was bring live examples which would have captivated the judges:)I would give ourselves a 100 cause i didn't see anybody else with the same idea or topic and we worked pretty hard on it :)

DeleteMy partner and I worked hard on the project. It was a good topic, so we thought. Even though the judges scorded us in the 60's I think we deserved higher. I didn't really like my judges because when they asked me a question I would try to answer it but they would cut me off. >:/ Over all I think we deserved a 95! :)

DeleteI think me and my partner did a pretty good job we didn't spent as much time as we should have, but we got it done.Something I would do differently is start on it earlier and choosing a harder topic so that we could have gone to district.We didn't get the score we were expecting, but in honesty I think we deserved 85-95 somewhere around there because ours was an original idea and it wasn't as simple either.
ReplyDeleteI think next time we should have our judges to grade fair and dont think that just because it was a hard topic ,it was not authentic.
DeleteI think my partners and I did a good job for how much time we had to actually do the project. Something I would do differently would be to start earlier and split more of our work evenly. I honestly think we should have recieved between 88-97. It wasn't that original but for how long it took to generate data and get everything together wasn't easy either.

Deleteour science fair was good we got a 70 something(i forgot) if we would have had sources than that probably would have gotten our grade better but over all it went ok

DeleteI think overall my group members & i did a good job researching our topic and getting it all done. Now that it has passed i think our project would've been better if we would have brought something to display. Maybe had more time to see full and complete results of our experiment. Hmm, i think i would give us a 100 because we had an original idea and worked hard to get a good project done in time(: & congratulations to the others moving on as well (:

DeleteFor science fair, my group and I did awesome! I think our presentation went great and I feel like the judges enjoyed it as well. Yes, we could have spent more time on it instead of trying to push everything at once. Also, we could have gone deeper into our topic as well like the judges agreed too. As an overall grade, I believe we got what we deserved :)
ReplyDeleteI also kinda pushed a lot towards the end as well. We didn't plan things well so some things were last minute and others we went into depth with.
DeleteYes I believe that we deserved a better grade, at least a 85, because I think we had a good topic. My partner and I worked hard to make the project ineresting and differnt than the other project. Maybe we could have worked on it more but I think we still did a great job to put it together. I think if we use it again next year, we could grow on it and make it bigger.

i got an 82 on my science fair and i think i should have deserved a 85. The judges are ignorant though i didn't go to district because they thought i put Clorox on my body!! Seriously!! If you read the instructions it says to collect a skin sample and place it on the petri-dish. Why else would i have filter paper with the chemicals for.
ReplyDeleteI think my group and I did well on the research :) I also thought our journal was really good! However our board could have been more organized and I think we should have brought our experiment for the judges to see. Now we know what to improve on for when we go to district though! I think we deserved a 100 because we put a lot of work into the project and as my partners already said it was original. :) Congrats to all the other groups moving on to district!!!
ReplyDeleteI am happy with my grade because we did need more information and sources. If I were to do it again i would have used more trials to make the results more accurate.

DeleteI think that our presentation went well, not great but well and that we deserved probably an 85. The things that I would do differently next time are to start earlier, do more background research, and include a bibliography which I think is essential if you want to have any possibility of moving on.

DeleteWe didn't spend that much time on it sine we couldnt decide on a day to work together but end up getting a good grade and all that good stuff. But I think we had an advantage since one of the judges were teaching what a science project was about. But end up with good results.

DeleteHonestly. i'm pretty disappointed on the fact that we received such a low score. Yes, i know that our project has been done over and over again, but that does not mean that we did not put a great amount of effort on it, i think the judges mainly judged us on our creativity, and not on how much we actually learned from our project... if i were to grade myself, i would give myself at least a 70... yes, our creativity wasn't the best, but our knowledge and apprehension of the actual topic was strong, in my opinion.. something that i would do differently would be to add more test subjects....

I think my partner and I gave a lot of effort to make our science fair.To me we had a strong topic an i think we deserved more than what our judges gave us.In my opinion our project was ORIGINAL and is not our fault that our "judges"didnt have the mind and knowledge to understand what our project was about.We had all of our information clear and easy to understand.
ReplyDeletei think we did okay. we couldve done better, we struggled a lot from getting organized and working on the project because we were all so busy but for what we got done i was impressed in myself and the group.
ReplyDeleteMy group and I did great on science fair. I believed we gave it all we could. In the presentation the judges loved us and i think we did pretty well. I wish we could have gotten more time to conduct each test. We could have probably even expanded on our topic. These are things I will keep in mind for future projects. But over all I enjoyed science fair!
ReplyDeleteI feel like if me and partner would have started putting the poster board together sooner it would have been better. I do think we did a good job, we put true information, but we could have elaborated way more.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I feel my project was with my partners. Information wasn't that hard to come by but I think the board is what got some people.
DeleteI think my group partners and I did well on getting the information from people and recording it correctly. I think more work should have been put forth to the board to make it look nice and also even the results. I think I would give my project a 78. I feel like it was just a little bit unprepared.

DeleteI think our project idea was good but we could have put more time into it. Mostly on the board because it was too simple and it didn't seem like there was much information on it.
ReplyDeleteMy group did our project on the signal detection theory. When the fair came up and we were being judged, we were appearantly doing the wrong subject, not fully detection theory. They said to either change the name or actually do the hours of looking at a radar. We added two videos to our project which gave us a boost in presentation, or example of what the topic was. We could've taken more time to do the poster board and make it look neat. I think we did good for the amount of days we worked on it.

ReplyDeleteI think our group project was a good idea and when we did work on our project we had put our effort in it. The only thing I think we could of improved was putting more time in the project. Other than that, I think we worked very well.
ReplyDeleteI also think our group had a great idea for science fair, but there were some faults. We had good research and the experiment was a tad bit messy, but it was decent! We worked very hard on it though.
ReplyDeleteI would honestly give my project like a 65, even though I had fun messing around with FIRE! The bad thing was that my house smelled a lot like smoke and wax.
