Week 27 Blog, Due Sunday, March 24, 2013

As you start planning your classes for next year, which science class interests you?  Why do you feel this is the best choice for you? Does it tie in to a possible future career?  Are you just looking to have an easy senior year?  Something to keep in mind, an AP class could help you build a strong foundation for college coursework, even if you don't pass the test.   Remember, you must post one original comment PLUS comment on some one else's post to receive full credit.  Happy Blogging! Science Classes offered next year are:  AP Physics, AP Biology, Aquatic, Environmental Systems, and Astronomy.  Other classes that can be counted as a fourth science are Anatomy & Physiology and Medical Microbiology.

  1. The Aquatic science class is something that I'm interested in, I think I'll like it because I've always been interested in things that live in water and things that are water.

    1. Its a cool class and the room is awesome. I wanted to be in that class but I chose something else. However, it will be a fun class that would go far in the mysteries in the ocean and animals you didn't know existed so good luck.

    2. I like water animals as well, man. They have always caught my attention in regard to the way the survive in the vast oceans and rivers.

  3. I would like to take aquatic science because I am not trying to stress. I heard the class is easy so that's where I will be. I like wish and whatnot so the class rather than being a waste of time, would serve as a time of constructive instruction.

  5. Astronomy because its basically about stars and just a little math. But it doesn't tie into my future. And of course im looking for an easy senior year.

  6. for my senior year i am considering anatomy and physiology because a good understanding of the human body would help me my future in the medical field. however i feel that biology is just as significant and the ap title would bump up my rank.

    1. Well since we're both going into the medical field it's obvious that we would want to take the same classes.

      Delete
    2. i agree ap bio would boost your rank up as well if you do good in the class.

    3. Those two seem like really good classes & they will really help you out!

  7. For my senior year I am considering taking anatomy and physiology or AP biology mainly because it will help me a lot in the medical field and to better understand the human body in the future when I begin my career. And no i'm not just looking for an easy senior year, because I want to take advantage of the classes that the school provides.

  8. Aquatics really interests me because of the cool fish but I'm going to take AP Physics because it does tie into the architecture and petroleum fields which I haven't really decided what I would like to do yet but it will help get to know everything earlier. And I am looking for an easy with some challenges senior year I just want to have a fun but memorable senior year!

    1. Our senior year is just going to be easy if we get all of our college applications done on time and early.

  9. I already took aquatics and environmental science. EASY. Hope you get Ms.Pugh. Anyway i'm going to take astronomy and A.P biology. It doesn't tie to my future because i don't want a science career.

  10. I havent really decided it would either be ap physics or biology. However a lot of people have told me that ap bio is ahrd but it fits more with my career than ap physics.

  11. AP biology interests me because i want to go into the medical field. I think this will help me the most.

  12. For my senior year I'm planning in taking AP Physics because it ties in with my furure career of Mechanical Engineering and this requires a deep understanding of Physics and it will be good to start early. Also, taking AP Physics will help me get college credit if I pass the AP test and it will give me a challenge. And for my senior year I really hope that it turns out to be an easy ongoing year with not so much stress.

    1. I hope I pass the AP test. Getting college credit while in high school is really helpful. Your right, getting a head start helps a lot later.

    2. I didn't know you wanted to study Mechanical Engineering. That is great and AP Physics will help you!

  13. I am taking AP biology next year. I liked biology back like in 9th grade and it seems like would be fun to get into depth with it. This class isn't for my career plan though. Hopefully it will help out my GPA instead of hurt it.

  17. The class I'm going to take is AP physics mainly because I need to challenge myself with the hard stuff now. Plus, I'm currently taking Astronomy which was the only other science class to interest me.

  20. For my senior year I have considered taking AP Physics. I think it will be easier for me to transfer from physics to AP physics. I have already taken AP Chemistry and that would have been my second choice. I like physics this year and I have a great teacher. Knowing that you will be the teacher next year makes me more comfortable in taking the course. I would take AP Biology but I never liked biology in 9th grade. I am not taking the easy way out because I need an advance course to remain in Science National Honor Society.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yea I totally feel the same about the transferring. It gives me a sense of ease knowing the teacher already and knowing her ways a.bit.

    2. I agree I'm not that good in biology so I don't think I'd be that good in AP bio. However I'm not taking the easy way out either because I still plan on taking AP physics :)

  21. I am planning on taking ap physics. I'm still undecided on what career I'm going for but I mighy go somewhere in the engineering field. So it will hopefully tie into it. From the looks of it, my senior year.looks pretty busy with my.classes and band. But I'm hoping to stay organized and have.a.great.senior year

  22. I am planning to take EMT next year. Though I love science I feel that I should put 100% of my attention into this course. I beileve I will get more out of EMT than out of a AP bio class. EMT ties into my career choice of being a trauma nurse. I want to have a career in which I can always study more for while I make money.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Good job! EMT is a nice, but hard course to take. From what I've heard as long as you work hard and are dedicated you'll do fine. You should consider taking maybe anatomy or medical microbiology just because it ties with the medical field. Plus, neither are AP classes so they shouldn't require as much effort as AP biology.

  23. For my senior year, I'm planning on taking anatomy! I would like to learn and become more familiar with the human body.

    1. Yeah! the human body interests me. I like bones specifically because they can tell so much about someone without the skin and organs.

  24. For my senior year I will be taking AP Biology because it seems interesting and its one of my strongest science topic.

  25. Well when I grow up if I don't change my mind and if I live that long, I'd like to be a medical pathologist or at least something in the medical field. I just talked to my counselor on Friday about my schedule for next year and if I don't change my mind I'm going to take Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Microbiology and AP Biology. It all relates into my career field. Also, the sciences that incorporate biology interest me so it's not like I'm taking a class I absolutely despise. My senior year probably is not going to be easy, but college isn't going to be easy, so why not challenge myself now? Also, AP Physics seems like a nice class to take next year so if I have room I might just take it because physics isn't as hard as I thought it would be if I just put my mind to it.

  26. Next year I plan on taking AP physics. I really like math and I hear that AP physics has a lot of that. I also enjoy physics. I guess it kind of ties in with what I want to be when I grow up because I want a career that involves a lot of math but I'm still not 100% sure on what I want to be.

    1. hey cindy, me too I want ap physics b/c I enjoy math. physics is basically projects and math.

  27. My plan is to take AP physics next year because I really like math & physics involves a lot of math itself. I dont see science being in my career but it could depends on what kind of teacher i end up being.

  30. Well since you're gonna teach ap physics and I I'm already learning about it I think I'm gonna stick with physics. And well it's mathematical and I can't deal with the other sciences lol I know I'm gonna have to be really good with physics and Cal in college

  31. i am taking astronomy next year because i feel it will feed my curiosity and widen my interest in scientific studies.

  32. In the future i will become an engineer and i feel that AP physics will best help me prepare.

  33. I think i'm taking AP Physics at least that's what it says.. I'm supposed to go change it again soon though, considering how much I fail at Physics now.

  34. I'm taking AP Biology. I've always liked Biology since I took.it freshman year. Yes it's a major I want to do,.and it will.help.in my future career.

  35. I'm taking Anatomy & Physiology because I wanted to be a forensic anthropologist before I decided to major in music. But I still want to be in the forensics field so this will help my minor.
