Week 9 Blog, Due Sunday, October 27th, 2013 by 11:00 pm

We have been working with translating graphs from a description of motion to qualitative p-t graphs, v-t graphs, a-t graphs and motion maps.  What has been the greatest difficulty for you?  Are you still struggling with any of them?  If so, which ones?  Next week we will be moving into the quantitative graphs (numbers and calculations), so if you are having a lot of trouble without numbers, you need to stay for tutorials.  Remember, each unit builds on the previous unit so it is very important for you to have mastered the concepts we have covered so far.  I am here to help you, but you need to put in the effort for real learning to occur.  Remember, if you have trouble posting on this site, you can post your comment and reply on edmodo.com or email me your comment and reply to physicswithego@gmail.com, or use twitter, or text me.  In order to receive Full Credit on the blog, you need to post an original Comment PLUS a Reply to someone else's comment.  Happy Blogging!

  1. 1st Post!!! I'm too lame and strange tho. Hashtag Sweg. Well anyways I'm really having trouble with the a-t graphs because anything dealing with acceleration gets to me. Tutorials and some extra guidance should help me! The struggle is real with this one.

    1. Me too but if you really pay attention to the notes she gives us and understand them, they will actually help a lot

    2. im also have trouble with this topic

    3. That topic is pretty confusing. I believe the notes may help a lot!

    4. Notes help a lot, but without them I'm still kind of confused. Hopefully, Ms. Ego's input will help a bunch.

    5. Going over notes and staying for tutorials should help . Also study time is also a plus.

  2. I was having trouble creating the graphs based off the others but I think after Tuesday's notes and today's work I understand it better

  3. The velocity-time graphs are troubling me because I don't understand why there 2 lines and how each graph is representing positive or negative slope. But I'm pretty sure the notes taken on Wednesday will help me with that.

  4. Hi Mrs. Ego I was having trouble with the acceleration graphs but today during class it clicked. It helped to see the work of everyone else and see the corrections made on the white boards.

    1. Yeah that white board activity helped a lot especially when she would ask why we did what we did ...! :-)

    2. Everyone seems to have trouble with acceleration graphs and I'm just here like ( ._.)

  5. im having trouble with velocity time graphs because the diagonal lines throw me off sometimes

  6. The a-t graph were the most confusing to me. I understand most of it but I don't understand how to find if it is a negative or positive acceleration. I'm sure tutorials would help a lot. The work we did in class yesterday was very helpful. all I need is to better understand the a-t graphs and ill be good.

  7. Everything else, but acceleration, is fine. On a spectrum from full comprehension to severely lost, I would fall in the middle. I understand how to determine/demonstrate the acceleration on motion maps, pictures, graphs. The only problem is acceleration on P-T graphs. I'm not completely sure how to graph some of them. I'm not sure if that makes sense.

  8. The biggest difficulty for me is the acceleration graphs and vectors. I get confused with them sometimes but looking at my notes in my notebook helps a lot.

  9. I'm a tad confused on acceleration graphs, I seem to understand the others well.

    1. I am also having trouble with the acceleration graphs. It looks like a lot of people also have the same struggle.

    2. yes i agree with you, this is the only thing that I'm having trouble in.

    3. It's probably because they're new to us.

  10. I'm slightly confused with acceleration graphs, I understand the other ones just fine. I look back to my notebook constantly, but I still get confused from time to time.

  11. I have troubles with the motion graph especially when graphing acceleration but it's just simple mistakes I make...I will definitely stay for tutorials tho:)

  12. I haven't fully gotten how to do accelerations on graphs, that's my main trouble/=.

  13. Doing and understanding the acceleration graphs is one of my weaknesses right now.

  14. I seem to understand p-t graphs and used to understand v-t graphs, but now that the line is not straight, I don't understand it. The a-t graphs are even more confusing. Honestly, I feel lost now. I will for sure stay for tutorials to get a better grasp of these graphs.

    1. The curved graphs are also a real bother

    2. I agree. The curves are a bit confusing.

  15. I don't seem to understand the acceleration graphs. I get so confused with all the different graphs. I try to study but that doesn't really seem to help. I should probably stay for tutorials.

    1. or just ask for help from one of your classmates. I get it more when another student explains it to me.

  16. I am more confused with v-t and acceleration graphs. All the slanted and curved lines throw me off.

  17. a-t graph is the one that is the one that gets me confused at times but a few more practice problems and I should be good.

  18. The only thing that I'm still finding a bit difficult is the acceleration and time graph, but the notes we took on thursday are helping a lot.

  19. Weeelll I've been having a little trouble understanding the p-t graphs, but with the notes, I understood them alittle better. What I need to do is come to tutorials more and I knoe I will get it by then :-)

  20. Because the v.t graphs now have a slope, they give me more trouble, he a.t graphs are not that difficult but I could use more help so that the info is concrete

  21. I having trouble with everything, but i will study soon when i get enough money for a computer. :)

  22. The only thing that gets me sometimes is deciding whether a curve is slowing down or speeding up on the p-t graphs, but once I look at my notes I understand it. The rest of the concepts I understand pretty well.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Not really struggling on any right now. :)

  24. I was struggling with the velocity vs. time graph but I looked over my notes and I got it.

    1. The velocity-time graphs are difficult to me because I don't understand how ther 2 lines work and how each graph is representing positive or a negative slope negative slope. But the notes will help

    2. I also felt the same way, and the notes do help me with it as well.

  25. I still don't quite understand the v-t graph. When their is a change in speed, I don't know which way the line is suppose to go. Everything else is ok for me, I just need to study.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I don't understand how to set a p-t graph when lines are curved or when its slowing down and speeding up, but everything else is kind of okay. My notes sometimes help but then I get lost again.

  27. I had trouble with the a-t graphs, but since I've been using my notes I don't have trouble with any.

  28. a-t graphs missing that lesson has me confused

  29. I get mixed up with which graph is which or what rule goes with which

    ReplyDelete
  30. i have trouble with most of them even though i understand it im still kinda confused

    ReplyDelete
  31. i understand the graphs but when it comes to negative and positive its a little confusing.

  32. I was having problem with the a-t graphs, but im currently not having any problems

  33. At the time I had difficulty grasping the concept of the velocity-time graph because I would get the acceleration-time graph confused with it. We were doing a warm up in class while it was being addressed what the two graphs were it snapped and I caught on.
