Semester Two Week 1 Blog: Due Sunday, January 26th by 11:00 pm

Since we are at the beginning of the new semester and everyone gets a fresh start, it is time to reflect on our successes and failures of the first semester.  Do you feel you received the grade that you earned?  Do you feel your grade does not accurately reflect the time and effort you put in to the class?  Since the second semester will move faster with a higher workload, is there anything you need to change to be as successful or more successful than you were in the first semester?  What are your goals for the new semester?  Remember, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome.  In other words, if you were not as successful in the first semester as you would have liked, you must change your behavior to improve your success for the second semester.  I look forward to reading your reflections and goals for the new semester.  You must post an original comment PLUS comment on someone else's post in order to receive full credit for the blog.  If you have trouble posting, you can post your comment/response on edmodo or email it to me at physicswithego@gmail.com.  Happy Blogging!

  1. I think I did receive the grade I earned because when I was confused, I would go through my notes until I understood how to work it out. For the new semester I plan on staying more after school because if the topics are going to keep building on top of eachother, I don't want to I don't want to get lost.

  2. I believe I received the grade I earned because I didn't understand at some point and I hardly turned in work. For this semester I plan to stop procrastinating and turn in my work and come to tutorials if I dont understand, so I won't get lost.

    1. I agree with you on listening more, because I tend to zone off every once in a while

    3. I always have questions but sometimes I decide to not ask. I think I should do that too.

  4. I feel I have received the grade that I earned and I feel like my grade does reflect the time and effort I put into the class. I think I need to study everyday before I go to bed so it will be the last thing on my mind and then study when I wake up so it will be the first thing on my mind. That seemed to work for me the 2nd 9-weeks. My goal is to be close to the best in class.

    1. That sounds like a good idea though I don't think I could stand it for very long though but its worth a try.

    2. That's a bit arduous; but, nonetheless, it's a great plan. I'm glad you're not limiting yourself to be in an average position.

  5. I think I did earn my grade in the class, though I would have liked it to be higher it is up to me because I didn't turn in all the homework assignments and couldn't stay for tutoring as much as I would have liked. So my goal for this semester is to not loose homework don't zone off in class and stay for tutoring.

    1. I agree because I did the same thing as you with the homework assignments and that is also my last goal on my list.

  6. Well to be honest, I do feel i received the grade I earned in this class. I dont feel that my grade that I got in this class reflects the work and effort I put into the class because I did what I could to pass the class and I passed it. Actually there is something i need to change going into this new semester and that is I need to stop sitting with the same people that I am with now because they might be a distraction to me when it matters so thats what needs to be change and also to focus more in class and not think of other stuff while that happens. My goals for this semester are to actually finish my work and get better grades than last semester and also as well to stay after school whenever I need help.

  7. I think my grade is what I deserve. I usually would stay for tutorials when I didn't understand something and sometimes I would help others as well. However, lately I hadn't been studying as much as I should have and didn't even do some of the reviews. This semester I will put more effort and try staying once a week or whenever I feel I need help. I will also take advantages of extra credit and not turn in assignments late!

  8. I think I have received the grade I deserve I believe it could've been better, but I started slacking off towards the end. For this semester I will make time for tutorials if I ever need help in something. I will also study more and I will try to focus more in class, and not slack off.

    1. I agree, we have to Make time for things like tutorials or studying. Sometimes I just say I don't have time, but I guess I really never did make time for it.

    2. Yes, i agree on the focusing in class, it is important to do so.

  9. I do believe my grade was what I deserved. I will do things differently this year so I want get behind and then slack off. I'm trying new techniques to always remember about my homework, and if I don't understand things I go to Google. It helped me by the end of the first , by explaining some stuff, so I'll keep doing that. My goals are to pass this class with at least a B, do all my homework, and a good role model. (I'm the oldest, so my younger siblings look up to me and I don't want them falling their classes.) I'm positive this new semester things will change for the better. (:

  10. Yo that grade was like a mirror, reflecting my time and effort and stuff. I just need to manage my time better, since all I do is lay down on my bed (which is preferred). I guess I can like do homework and stuff earlier.

  11. I believe the grade did reflect my effort that I put into this class. However, since this 2nd semester will go much faster, I need to be able to understand the lessons quicker. My goals for this semester will be to study and practice the subject more often.

  12. I dont think i deserve the grade i received because i dont think i worked hard for it. My goal is to complete and turn in all the homework on time. To do that i will do my physics homework first thing when i get home. I started and will keep doing, asking questions not just to you but other people as well. So they can help me on how to solve problems.

  14. The grade I received is really justified.I will admit that I did not put in as much time into studying like I would have liked to but this semester I plan to manage time a lot  better. To achieve the goals I have set for myself  I plan to attend after school tutorials  more often which has proven to be very effective when I did attend so why not do it right?

  17. The grade that I received for the semester was what I fairly earned. My grade definitely reflected off of the time and effort I put on it. More studying was required for a better grade. To reach my goal, get an A in class, I will need to make more study time and participate in class.

  18. I feel that I did receive my grade last semester. I was not being productive and and I know that I could have done better. I bearly passed last semester. I have to start more effort into my work and study more. This semester I want to reach my goal of a 90. It possible if I just apply myself.

  19. I'm really happy with my grade of the first semester I think I deserve that grade because I work really hard for it. Something that I would like to change for the second semester would be if I dont know something well I should go to tutorials. And my goal for this 2nd semeter is to past my class with a A.

  21. I believe I deserved the grade I got because that's the effort I put into my work. I hardly studied and I really need to change that. The things I would like to change are my study habits. I need to be more focused on my classwork. I also think tutorials would help a lot when things aren't getting in my head. My goal is to get a 90+ as a grade.

  22. I feel that i did receive the grade i deserved and i think that if i attend more tutorials to actually understand a topic for I'll be more successful this semester. Also keeping up with the work and doing it would also help

  23. I deserve the grade i got this semester because i put in some work, but i didn't put in as much as i should have. If i would have came to more tutorials i think i wouldn't of got a B. I need to focus more in class and do the work instead of talking. I would also like to change my study habit, extra time wouldn't hurt. My goal for this new semester is to get an A+.

  24. I think i didnt deserve the grade I received. Honestly i thought i didn't put effort in my work. Whenever I didn't understand a lesson I would watch videos or ask others and it helped a lot. This new semester i will be doing the same. I'll just stay after school more offend. This semester for my goal is to get a higher grade than i got last semester

  25. I feel i deserved the grade i received because the starting of first semester i was mostly confused but i stayed after school and on Saturdays when i could. I really tried understanding but the real challenge was studying at home. This semester i will pay more attention during class rather than last semester. My goal is to do my homework and study after school rather than home. My main goal is to improve my grade.

  26. I believe I earned the grade I received this semester fact being that I put in as much work to all the homework and class work I did. Even if I did not understand the work completely I would go home look at videos on YouTube or just look at other pages to try to fully understand the subject we were going over. That helped me in class a lot. My goal for this semester is to be at the top of my game by understanding everything faster so that I can do my work in class more efficiently and to achieve the highest possible grade. Staying for tutorials more often is also on that list.

  27. I believe the grade i got for the semester is the grade i earned since i tried to do all the assignments needed to pass. My goal for this semester is to have a higher grade this semester by studying and attending tutorials.

I think to be more successful for the second semester I would need to study and use my notebook more and stay for tutorials whenever I don’t understand something. My goals for the class would be to get an A.
